Getting Started

    Welcome to AuditReporter ๐Ÿ‘‹
Great that you are going to work with AuditReporter. In this Getting Started guide, we explain how to use the software within the (ISO) audit process, what characterizes a good audit, and how AuditReporter supports you in this.

    AuditReporter in the audit process

AuditReporter is designed as a practical tool for planning, executing, and documenting audits. The software supports both:

    • internal audits

    • supplier audits

    • (preparation for) external certification audits

and is suitable for standards such as ISO 27001, ISO 9001, ISO 20000, NEN 7510 and similar management systems.

AuditReporter does not replace the expertise or judgment of the auditor, but structures the audit process, monitors progress, and ensures consistent, traceable, and well-founded audit results.

    What is a good audit?

A good audit is more than just ticking off a checklist. The goal is to determine:

    • whether the management system is set up according to the standard

    • whether the system works effectively in practice

    • where risks, deviations, and improvement opportunities lie

Important characteristics of a good audit are:

    1. Clear objective and scope

An audit always has a clear boundary:

    • which standard(s)?

    • which processes, departments, or locations?

    • which period?

    2. Good preparation

    An auditor prepares by:

    • studying relevant documentation

    • reviewing previous audit results and actions

    • identifying risks and points of attention

    3. Objective and verifiable findings

    Findings are:

    • based on factual evidence

    • traceable to interviews, documentation, or observations

    • clearly linked to standard requirements

    4. Focus on improvement

An audit is not a reckoning, but a tool for learning and improving. Good audits:

    • identify what is going well

    • make risks visible

    • provide direction for concrete improvement actions

    How AuditReporter helps with this

AuditReporter supports the entire audit process, from start to finish:

    • Planning and managing audit programs

    • Structuring audits by standard, chapter, or theme

    • Documenting findings with clear classifications

    • Following up on actions and monitoring progress

    • Generating reports that are immediately usable for management and certification bodies

With this structure, you can focus as an auditor on content and quality, rather than on administration and loose documents.

First time logging in: example organization

When AuditReporter is newly purchased, an automatic:

    • example organization

    • example audit program

    is created.

    This example is intended to:

    • get to know how AuditReporter works

    • see how audit programs, audits, and findings are interconnected

    You can choose to:

    • modify the example to fit your own organization, or

    • remove the example and start completely from scratch

Both options are fine; choose what best fits your working method.
